Worst Day Of The Year Ride
About this event
WORST DAY OF THE YEAR RIDE
HISTORY:
February 8 was both the coldest and wettest date in Oregon history (-54 degrees, Ukiah, 1933) and (26" of rain in 4 days, Coastal range, 1996) We thought that sounded like the perfect day for a ride. The first Worst Day was in 2001 and boasted over 200 brave souls. Over 3,000 showed up for the 10th anniversary. In 2006 the Challenge Course was added to accommodate the growing "die-hard" audience. Costumes were introduced by the public, first rewarded in 2008, and now supported with $5,000 in prizes and a Green-screen photo booth. The weather has been clear 13 times, rained twice, and cancelled once due to a crippling winter storm dubbed "Snowpocalypse".
