Hockinson Hts Ride @ 12 NOON (VAN)

  Good Day Sunshine
Oh, those Beatles!  Sing along (click link above), get your gear and let's ride.
November:  the new September?

26 miles   RwGPS (link to see route, hills, etc.)

Elevation Gain:

665 ft

14 with friendly stops - and all-out CRAZED BURSTS OF SPEED whenever I can. Last time I posted 16 and tried hard, but I am only a 16mph rider with illusions of grandeur, so I knocked it back to 14 this week.

Ride Type:

Re-group: you should be able to ride 14mph on the flats, but we will re-group when hills separate us.  There's only a couple of hilly sections.

Weather Cancels?

The usual bad stuff: hurricane, whiteouts, ice storms.

NOTE THE START:  Safeway  63rd St and Andresen and the TIME: 12 NOON.
We ride the whoop-de-doos on the Padden path and then some hills and pleasant leg-stretcher rural roads toward Hockinson before heading south on the old North Ride route.  Stop at on of the Hockinson Markets about mile 16.  Back before dark!

Our route:

This is the old classic Hockinson Heights route with one tweak to take us back with slightly less traffic.  The thrill is getting to the top of the world on Hockinson Hill without too terribly much work to get there - well, sort of.  It is a hill.  Sunny day and the view should be good!

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing.

Riders are expected to have read the club's Safe Riding Policy and  be familiar with club Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions or concerns to the ride leader or our club Road Captain.

Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), Road IDs, cell phones, tool kit, mirrors, and pump are recommended. Check your bike and gear before you come to make sure it's in good working order.  Seriously.

Ride leader will bring maps/cues to the ride.  You can see our route online at the Ride With GPS link above. Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace, but this is a "No rider left behind group." Please communicate with your leader if you decide to go off route.

Remember - we want to be awesome representatives of the cycling community in Clark County and spread a love and respect for our great sport by obeying all traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner.  Ride safely and have fun!
