About the abnormal ride series - I have been told that I am an abnormal rider. I can live with that, and this series will celebrate that. This series will be rides that are atypical of our normal club rides. The rides may be very scenic and/or long and/or hilly and/or out of the area. Or they may just be silly fun. You be the judge.

About this abnormal ride – Saturday is forcast to be mostly sunny in The Dalles, rather that showers that are forecast here.  So the sun may be part of what is abnormal.  This ride starts at the Oregon Trail Interpetive Center and follows a paved trail along the Columbia River.  Along the way will be many views of the river.  We will also see a Google server center where your searchs might be processed.  After the trail we will be on city streets for a couple of miles and then ride a loop in the country to the east of The Dalles.  Mostly this will be in open farming areas.

Ride Policies

This is a casual ride where I expect to stop for views and pictures.  But while riding I expect a pace equivalent to 17 mph on a flat road.

We will regroup at the top of hills or other places for those keeping pace.

Faster or slower riders are welcome but be prepared to ride on your own.

All registered riders are welcome and may depart at any time to ride their own pace and distance; please let the ride leader know if you leave the group.

Registration is required and almost always free to both members and non-members. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to register for this event.
