Be a part of celebrating and publicizing a new WA state law intended to make vulnerable road users safer.

SB 5723 takes effect January 1 and requires drivers to give us
either a lane OR 3 feet
before attempting to pass us
when we're on roadways without bike lanes.

(Where is her helmet, you ask? I'm sure her friend is holding it.)
Saving the world - one bike ride at a time!
Details:
Bring coffee $$ for Relevant Coffee right across the street.
Wear VBC gear or something layered, fluffy, warm and electric!
Be ready for a group ride that is not solely focused on exercise or distance.
Our focus is on publicizing the law and educating the community to make a difference - using our bikes!
Read about the law if you have interest. See sources below.
A photographer from The Columbian will be there. We are the props to help them explain the law.
Article by Scott Hewitt should be in the paper January 3rd.
Read about the law here OR just google.

NOTE: If you google, check the date of the article. Old information is still out there.
NOTE: There's more to this law. We can now legally remain in the right-turn only lane, even when we're going straight.
Fun DOL quiz HERE.
