Summer. Sunday Parkways. Everybody rides! Let's join Portland's 50th Sunday Parkways Ride. They say to wear something golden for this 50th Anny event. Wear whatever you want, but come out and let's explore this North Portland 9.5 mile loop. 6 parks including 2 of my favorites, Arbor Lodge with Harper's Playground and Columbia. Loads of activities in case you want to bike and zumba or make music or who knows what. Mostly we'll ride neighborhood greenways casually and enjoy SUMMER. Note: I'll be pooped from Saturday's RACC training ride and will be leading this one at a "let's explore and enjoy the activities" social pace. Start: 10:30 from the 410 Building.
Notes:
PUMP YOUR TIRES if you haven't ridden in a few days. Bring a spare tube that fits your wheels. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain. Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace of the group they choose. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start. We want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner. Ride safely and have fun!
