Cancellation Guidelines:

Rain/Snow / Ice / Thunderstorms / Wind > 25 mph

8am start? You bet! Many times I start at 8am in the summer to avoid the heat. This time...the 8am start is to try and ride before the rain.

The weather might be "OK" Saturday morning - for 1-2 hours?!? Let's try and enjoy a few hours of "dry" weather with a bike ride. Depending upon the weather...we will go either 28 or 41 miles. A democratic vote will happen at the pre-ride meeting as to the distance length. And, may be over-turned with a dictator decision by the ride leader.

28 Mile Ride with GPS Route Here.
Please bring a cue sheet or plan to stay with the group.

Head to east Vancouver via relatively flat roads. The beginning of the ride offers a detour north to Hockinson and The Ditch (41 mile route). Then...we head east. At the edge of Harmony Sports complex in east Vancouver, the route turns south before eventually heading west. The route loops back around north by Clark College before tackling the hill at St. Johns Road. After that, you’re in the home stretch to the start of the route at Safeway.

And...of course: A stop towards the end at the Donut Nook!

A note on the pace. Usually...I would "for sure" do a max speed of 18. This might be more relaxed - weather dependent.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain. Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start.

Remember - we want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying all traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner.Ride safely and have fun!
