DETAILS

This classic VBC route is a great ride for both beginners and experienced cyclists. Starting at the PUD parking lot is really convenient; many riders get there by bike, and if you're driving, it's just a quick trip off of I-5. The route follows the Burnt Bridge Creek Trail on the way to Frenchman’s Bar.

The ride is very safe, staying on dedicated bike paths and wide shoulders for the entire route. While there can be fast-moving traffic on Lower River Road, the shoulder is wide. There's also an option to use a bike path for a section of the ride both out and back, and it's highly recommended you use it.

Keep an eye out for glass and debris on the route; while it's sometimes clean, obstacles are common. It's best to take your time, slow down, and enjoy the scenery.

The listed pace is 12-14 mph, but in reality, everyone goes their own speed, especially on Lower River Road. If you're a new rider or unsure of the route, just let the ride leader know. They'll be happy to ride with you at a pace you're comfortable with.

After the picnic, return to the PUD parking lot by following Lower River Road to Mill Plain Boulevard, then continue to Clark Public Utilities at Mill Plain Boulevard and Fort Vancouver Way.

We're asking you to both register for this ride and separately for the picnic.

For any updates, you're welcome to text the ride leader: 503-367-4183
