Hey all,

My name is Heath, and I’ve put together a weekday route that’s about an hour long. I’m planning to ride it this Thursday, March 5th, and I’d love for anyone interested to join me for a quick ride before the sun sets. I’m eager to hear your thoughts on the route—is it enjoyable, do you enjoy riding Salmon Creek Trail, and would you consider riding it again? I’d appreciate any feedback you can share. Here’s the ride I’ve created: it’s 12.8 miles long. If it starts raining or gets dark, we’ll cut off the last 2 miles and head back to the parking lot. Just a few things to keep in mind about this ride: I’m not a ride leader yet, so this isn’t a VBC club ride. There’s no registration required, and it’s not covered by the club insurance. I’m simply using the forums to share my upcoming ride with you.

Note:

Just a heads-up that this isn’t a VBC ride, so there’s no need to register. It’s also not a club ride, and unfortunately, it won’t be covered by club insurance. I’m not a ride leader right now, but I’m hoping to become one this year.

Details:

  1. We’ll be parking at the Mt. Vista Safeway/Goodwill parking lot (the south end).
  2. I’m planning to leave around 5:30, but since this isn’t a club ride, feel free to ride the route whenever you like and share your thoughts.
  3. The ride is about 12.8 miles long, and I’m aiming for an hour.
  4. There’s no set pace, but I’m estimating around 10-12 miles per hour. Maybe we’ll go a bit faster on 149th Street.
  5. Please bring a light, as sunset is around 6:05 and the last light will be at 6:35, so it might be helpful.

That’s all for now! The main thing to remember is that this isn’t a VBC club ride, so there’s no registration, and it’s not covered by club insurance.

If you’re interested in riding the route before or after this Thursday, March 5th, please reply to the post with any comments or concerns.

Thanks, and I hope to see you out there on Thursday!

-Heath
