Dear Joel,
Fast, heavy “e-motos” are everywhere. To the untrained eye they look a lot like e-bikes – but there are BIG differences: high speeds (up to 60 mph) and high power. They are a growing safety issue on our streets and trails and deserve specific rules – but right now, decision makers often mistake these vehicles for e-bikes, putting e-bike access at risk.
Thankfully, there’s a bill in the legislature to clarify what e-motos are, and restrain where people can riding these vehicles.
▶️ Please sign in pro before Wednesday for HB2374, which clarifies definitions for e-bikes and electric motorcycles. Take action on the legislative bill page and state your position as “pro” in the pull down menu so that legislators know people on bikes support this bill.
