They aren't e-bikes No images? Click here Dear Joel, Fast, heavy “e-motos” are everywhere. To the untrained eye they look a lot like e-bikes – but there are BIG differences: high speeds (up to 60 mph) and high power. They are a growing safety issue on our streets and trails and deserve specific rules – but right now, decision makers often mistake these vehicles for e-bikes, putting e-bike access at risk.  Thankfully, there’s a bill in the legislature to clarify what e-motos are, and restrain where people can riding these vehicles.  ▶️ Please sign in pro before Wednesday for HB2374, which clarifies definitions for e-bikes and electric motorcycles. Take action on the legislative bill page and state your position as “pro” in the pull down menu so that legislators know people on bikes support this bill.  Posing as e-bikes, these vehicles need to be clearly defined in state law. We want consumers and trail users protected from these fast, heavy vehicles. And we want to ensure that class 1,2, and 3 e-bikes, which are legally defined and much closer to regular bicycles, don't get swept up in any law changes.  Sign in to rein in e-motos Things are moving fast this legislative session – with only 60 days to get bills through both chambers.
