Reminder: Puget Island via Ferry Ride This Saturday!

Just a friendly reminder that our scenic Puget Island ride is coming up this Saturday, September 13th at 10:00 AM!

The current forecast is looking absolutely perfect for a ride—partly cloudy with highs in the mid-70s and no rain in sight. It's ideal biking weather!

Don't forget the essentials:

  • $6 in cash for the ferry crossings
  • Your lunch

This 40-mile adventure will take you along the beautiful lower Columbia River basin, with two fun ferry rides and a chance to explore charming Puget Island. We'll be riding at a 12-14 mph pace.

We look forward to seeing you there for a memorable day on the bike!

I agree.  I was just there over this last holiday weekend camping on the river a few houses down from the ferry.  It is so unique and peaceful that I go there every year.  There are more cows than cars, matter of fact the only time you'll really see cars on the island are those coming and going from the ferry.

I highly recommend this route/ride, did it a number of years ago,  it is quite unique and a real  blast.

Ready for a unique and scenic bike ride? Then join us next Saturday, September 13th, for an adventure through the lower Columbia River basin, including two fun ferry crossings! We'll explore charming Puget Island (on the Columbia River, not Puget Sound!) and pedal through a wildlife refuge home to endangered Columbian white-tailed deer. The ride includes a short section of easy gravel trail, manageable on a road bike, and a brief stretch (less than a mile) on a highway with a wide shoulder, but the rest of the route is on peaceful roads. Remember to bring $6 in cash for the ferry and a lunch, and prepare for a memorable day along the river. See the event on the VBC-USA Club Calendar for full details:
