The bike path out to Frenchman's Bar is being extended. Port of Vancouver USA to Begin Construction on Next Phase of Bike/Pedestrian Pathway - Port of Vancouver USA<https://www.portvanusa.com/news-releases/port-of-vancouver-usa-to-begin-construction-on-next-phase-of-bike-pedestrian-pathway/>
The bike path will extend the exiting route from the Port toward Frenchman's Bar. It will end near Old Lower River Road - a rarely used section of road that parallels Lower River Road. This will allow cyclist to ride on a bike path or back road almost the entire length of Lower River Road. There will still be a short section without a trail near the existing Frenchman's Bar / Vancouver Lake Trail. (see map is story above).
Construction should be complete by the end of the year.
Ultimaely, the Port plans to add another section that will connect this new section with the Frenchman's Bar / Vancouver Lake trails.
