ABOUT THESE EVENTS

This is a co-hosted set of rides starting at the same location and at the same time:
One for a Half Century, one for a Century.

Everyone is welcome, whether you've ridden a half or full century before, but we'll be making special efforts to help first timers achieve their goals.:

While they will share the same route for the first 52 miles, they have separate calendar entries:
- My First Half Century Ride / 12 - 14 Pace / 1,088' / 52 mi / RL Sally Butts/ 8:00AM

- My First Century Ride / 12 - 14 Pace / 2,308' / 101 mi / RL Tom Eggers / 8:00AM

* Those wishing to register for the 52 mile loop should sign-up for Sally Butts' ride.
* Those wishing to ride the Century should sign-up for Tom Eggers' ride.

DETAILS

Have you ever wanted to ride 50 or 100 (and 1!) miles in a day, but found the route or pace too intimidating? You can do it! These co-hosted and fun rides are now being offered at a slower pace and on relatively flat roads, thus increasing your chances of completing whichever ride you choose! While these rides have been designed for you, everyone is welcome to join us.

Sally Butts will lead the entire group (half and full century riders) on a variation of her "North Route Meets Big Foot" ride (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52486859). The end of that route brings us back to this ride's start location at Clark Public Utilities, where anyone not wishing to continue for the century ride can celebrate and depart.

Tom Eggers will then lead those wishing to ride the century on a variation of his "Sandy River Ramble" ride (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56684776) to Troutdale, OR. and back.

Due to the distances involved we will start at Clark Public Utilities at 8:00 AM. Century rides must be prepared for a long day (8 - 9 hours). Everyone must be confident of riding at the listed pace for the duration of the ride. Anyone riding the 52 mile loop should have already ridden at least 35 miles in a day this year, and anyone riding the full century should have already ridden a metric century.

Registrants wishing to ride faster than the listed pace are welcome to join us, but you'll be on your own and responsible for your own navigation, safety and fun.

We've built several features into these rides to help you be successful, including:
1. Routes being as flat as we could find yet still be fun, safe and interesting
(by comparison, the 2026 RACC century route included 3,791' of gain)
2. Maintaining a reasonable pace
3. Taking breaks, staying hydrated and nourished (the routes have several rest-stops)

NOTE: There will be NO Club-supported rest/food stops on either route, so bring items to eat.

There are coffee/food stops along the way, such as the:
* BG Albertson's at mile 15.7 or
* Al & Ernies: Mile 21.7
* New Seasons: Mile 44
* TBD
* Rivertrails Cafe in Troutdale around mile 79
