Just a quick update to sincerely thank everyone who responded to my request this morning. I have been able to schedule an appointment with one of the providers that was recommended. Really appreciate the help from everyone!

RPM Massage in Vancouver.
If you are looking for a feel good, Sandy is not your practitioner. She really focuses on your issues and is extremely good at her craft.

Hi Fran, Not a massage therapist per se, but I've had great experiences with https://www.pedalpt.com/. Kevin is a very cycling-friendly physical therapist, as the business name would suggest. He works with massage therapists too, but I've found that PT to be especially helpful. Best, Joel

I highly recommend Ashley Miller at 360-989-5261 in the St. Johns area. She is a LMT and a MMP.
What is an MMP?

Definition: An MMP is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) who has completed specialized, advanced training in clinical and medical-grade massage techniques.
-
Focus: Unlike general spa or relaxation massages, medical massage is an outcome-based treatment targeting specific, diagnosed medical conditions, chronic pain, or musculoskeletal injuries (such as whiplash,
herniated discs, carpal tunnel syndrome, or sciatica).
-
Training: Programs like the
LMT
Success Group Medical Massage Program or similar institutional curricula train therapists in targeted anatomical protocols, orthopedic assessment, documentation, and navigating physician or insurance communications. [1,

-
Neuromuscular Therapy & Trigger Point Therapy: Addressing hyperirritable spots in muscle tissue to relieve radiating pain.
-
Deep Tissue Manipulation: Targeting deeper layers of muscle and fascia to break down scar tissue and improve range of motion.
-

Subject: [VBC Buddies] Massage Therapist for Shoulder?
Hello All,
Can someone recommend a sports massage therapist who is skilled with resolving upper back/shoulder pain?
I've been dealing with a nagging pain for over a month, and I suspect (hope?) it's being caused by muscles locked in a spasm, as opposed to an actual tear somewhere in my rotator cuff. Despite resting
and reduced activity, my discomfort has escalated to symptoms of a pinched nerve. I've been doing acupuncture, which has offered only temporary relief. The acupuncture doc detects lots of muscle tension but says this isn't presenting like the frozen shoulders
she's treated.
Surely I'm not the only cyclist in Vancouver who has tweaked their shoulder! ;) I'd like to find someone skilled at finding and releasing locked muscles.
Thank you!
