We Can Do It! Ride 52 or 101 Miles in a Day

It's (almost) September and you're in good shape after riding all spring and summer. If given the chance, could this be the year you ride 50+ miles, or even 100 miles, in day?

You'll have that chance on 12 September when Sally Butts and I co-lead rides of those distances. While everyone is welcome, we hope to particularly attract people who can make the miles but haven't tried in the past because the route was too hilly and/or the pace was too fast. So, we created these routes to be as flat as possible while still being fun, safe and interesting, and the pace will be at a reasonable 12-14 mph on those flats (with no wind). Combine those features with good hydration and calories on ride day and "We Can Do It!"

We'll start at 8 AM and leave together from Clark Public Utilities. Sally will lead for the first 52 mile section, bringing us back to the start location, where Tom will lead those wishing to ride the Century for the remainder of the day. There will be plenty of rest stops along the way. Sally and I are committed to coaching and supporting first-timers in accomplishing these goals. Yes, "We Can Do It!"

Check out the just-added ride postings for more details. Register for Sally's ride if you want to do the 52 mile loop, and Tom's if you want to ride the full Century.

Join Sally for this Saturday's North Route Reverse or Sunday's Big Foot rides if you want to see what much of her route will be like. Join Tom for this Saturday's "Sandy River Ramble" ride to experience much of what the second part of that ride will cover.
