VBC Buddies -
Looking for a fun and rewarding way to spend an afternoon on your bike?
The
Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB) is looking for cyclists interested in serving as
tandem captains, giving students the opportunity to get out, ride, and enjoy cycling.
The WSSB tandem program hosts
10–12 rides each year, departing from the school in the late afternoon, normally around
3:30 p.m. Their rides average
6–10 miles and, most importantly, they claim you’ll have a ton of fun. WSSB provides the tandem bikes used for these rides.
You don’t need to commit to every ride. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please contact

It’s a terrific opportunity to share your love of cycling while helping WSSB students experience the freedom and camaraderie of riding a bike. About half their current captains are VBC members!
