Tilikum Time with The Beatles 10AM (VAN)

Click the link above to sing with John, Paul, Ringo and George:
"I need to laugh, and when the sun is out, I've got something to laugh about. I feel good in a special way, I'm in love and it's a sunny day. Good Day Sunshine!"
Then hop on your bike and let's ride!

Details:

Before the rains, let's ride the Tilikum Bridge again.
No cars or trucks.  Seriously.  Cyclists.  Walkers.  Transit.  This is the miracle bridge.
Seven-foot 8-inch bike lanes on the bridge.  Wow.

We'll ride down to the bridge on the west side of the river including some of the Esplanade
*We can eat a slice at Pizzicato at about mile 13 before we cross the bridge.  I hear they have a lunch special slice and salad.
*The other option is Life of Pie on Williams, after we cross and are heading home at about mile 16.  They have a deal from 11-6 daily:  11" (4 big slices) Margherita Pizza for $5.  Both places have outside seating.  UPDATE:  too far for this ride.  GREAT place, but we'll do it another day.
We'll ride home on the east side, including some of the Esplanade.
                                                                Summer in October!

Start:  10am!  We meet and ride from Pearson Air Museum (park on the street - restrooms are open) and then along the river to 33rd Ave where we head south.  We'll ride neighborhood greenways and see a few pretty Portland parks.

Print a cue from the map link (choose PRINT PDF, cue sheet only, size 14 font for a cue that's 1-page and easy to read) if you want one.  My printer is sulking.

PUMP YOUR TIRES if you haven't ridden in a few days.  Bring a spare tube that fits your wheels.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain.

Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order.

Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace of the group they choose. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start. We want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner. Ride safely and have fun!
