The VBC has been doing the “Gran Fondo” for a few years where we’ve intentionally had a lot of pace groups available in one ride. Please join us in one of the pace groups/distances listed below. And…just for kicks, from the experts at Wikipedia: A Gran Fondo is a type of long-distance road cycling ride originating in Italy in 1970, and roughly translates into English as "Big Ride". Click here for the route. Please note: Wheels roll at 9am. Please arrive early to get ready, find your group and sign in. Another option once you get to Battle Ground riders could wish to join up with Steve's GF ride at a bit slower pace. Pace 17-ish, Miles = 43, Elevation = appox. 1400 ft. Route: BG GF West Long Route Led by Steve Baltazar
Notes:
Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain. Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start.
Remember - we want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying all traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner.Ride safely and have fun!
