We'll earn our pizza by riding the LONG WAY. We'll ride through 4 parks: Pier, Chimney, Cathedral and Columbia. The yellow leaves may still be on the trees. Beautiful. Pier Park and Columbia Start: 11am! We ride from the 410 Building heading south over the I-5 Bridge toward Marine Drive to ride through the Sewer Park with some brand new pavement. We'll ride neighborhood greenways and through the parks. City riding is much easier than people think. Give it a try. Restrooms: mile 10, Pier Park Pizza by the slice: mile 12. There is a short climb out of Cathedral Park, but we'll be motivated because the pizza is so close you can smell it. The Belmont goats (not the Rodney goats) have moved! They are now just off Willamette Blvd, so we'll stop there, OF COURSE! Can you tell this is a social ride??? We're not in a hurry, so leave that real-world schedule at home for this one--or enjoy another ride if you don't have time to explore with us. Print a cue from the map link (choose PRINT PDF, cue sheet only, size 15 font for a cue that's 1-page and easy to read) if you want one. I'm out of ink.
Notes:
PUMP YOUR TIRES if you haven't ridden in a few days. Bring a spare tube that fits your wheels. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain. Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace of the group they choose. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start. We want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner. Ride safely and have fun!
