Sorry so early - but we need to be at 7th Ave and Flanders by 10am.  It will be chilly.  Wear layers!

Portland will officially break ground Thursday on a new Bikes and Pedestrians ONLY overpass above I-84.  You can read about it and see the artist's rendering of the bridge on bikeportland.org.  We'll ride neighborhood greenways and bikeways to get there.  Waaaaay easier than driving!  However, it IS city riding, so please gauge if that's for you.

Leave:  9am sharp!  We meet and ride from the 410 Building where we held RACC last year and head south over the I-5 bridge.  If you don't normally ride in Portland, you'll see how easy it can be.  Here's a video of some of the greenways.

On the way home we ride north on the west side of I-5 and pass through the Expo Center.  We can stop to check it out if you've never ridden it with your bike.  Easy peasy.

Print a cue from the map link (choose PRINT PDF, cue sheet only, size 16 font for a cue that's 1-page and easy to read) if you want one.  My printer is almost out of ink.

Notes:

PUMP YOUR TIRES if you haven't ridden in a few days.  Bring a spare tube that fits your wheels.

Front and rear lights are always a good idea, especially if it's foggy.

Bring a lock and coffee money. We'll stop somewhere.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign up and be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain.

Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended. Please make sure to print a ride cue sheet, if you need one. Make sure your bike is in good working order.

Riders should be able to maintain the stated pace of the group they choose. Please communicate with the leader if you decide to go off route or not return to the start. We want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner. Ride safely and have fun!
