NOT UPDATED: START LOCATIONS MAY BE INACCURATE AND CLUB RIDES MIGHT USE A MODIFIED ROUTE This is a very hilly ride with a significant climb up Hughes, 4100’ of climbing. The climb up Hughes is doable but hard. Just come prepared to climb some steep 10%+ grades for parts of Hughes. If there are riders who do not want to climb Hughes there’s an opt-out for that climb. It is a beautiful low traffic route out to the falls either way.
Start: parking lot across from Pendleton Mills
1 Pendleton Way / Washougal, WA. 98671
From Portland, OR take I-5 north, cross the Columbia River and take Route 14 east to Washougal. At Washougal River Rd (the only stop light on HWY 14 in Washougal), turn left. As you turn, on the right, you will see the Pendleton billboard.
The Hearth and Torque Coffee shop are in the plaza next door. Plenty of options to eat in the plaza after the ride.
