The Vancouver Bicycle Club’s Cyclist's Closet at Bike Clark County's (BCC) downtown shop is officially open. There are two ways you can get involved:
1. Do you have cycling items that you don't need, don’t really like or just don’t fit anymore? Just because they don't work for you, doesn't mean that they won't work for someone else. Please consider donating your gently used gear to the Closet.
2. Do you know someone just getting started in cycling? Invite them to check out the Closet. Thanks to member donations, we're starting out with a good selection of items including jerseys, jackets, shorts, arm warmers, leg warmers, gloves, water bottles, etc. Or…if you need something, you’re welcome to access it, too! All items are free.
BCC is open:
- Wednesday thru Saturday, 11am - 6pm
- Sunday 11am - 4pm
- 1604 Main Street, Vancouver
- Bike shop employees will direct you to the VBC Cyclist's Closet
While you are there, check out BCC’s inventory. They have items at terrific prices --- a great way to support a worthy organization.
I will be checking the donation box weekly and organizing the items in the closet. In my absence, Shanna Rice has agreed to check in weekly. Remember: Other cyclists will “shop” after you. Please leave the Closet in an organized fashion.
Finally: The closet can really use additional items - so please take a few minutes to clean out your cycling items that you no longer use. For most of us, that would be A LOT!!!
