VBC food drives this weekend!
Author Last Post

I have been asked to coordinate a VBC food drive to help out with those in need during this SNAP interruption. So I've coordinated TWO drives, this Friday and Saturday, which will be just in time for Thanksgiving. I will need a few volunteers for both to help with traffic control if needed and to help unload food from vehicles.

This is a VBC event so I am asking for every VBC member to donate what they can to one or both of the following locations!

Friday November 14th's drive will be at Clark County Food Bank on 47th in Vancouver from 12-3pm. This organization tries to subsidize SNAP benefits and recently has come under heavy pressure to do so. They will provide bodies to help but volunteers from VBC will be needed in anticipation of a heavy turn out. To find out their food needs please go to clarkcountyfoodbank.org.

On Saturday November 15th from 9am-noon, food drive will be at Share House at the Share Fromhold Service Center at 2306 NE Andresen RD, Vancouver WA 98661. Point of contact there for our volunteers will be Miriam Moreno, she will be by herself so we definitely need volunteers here. Food and snacks and signs available. Food needs can be found at sharevancouver.org.

Scott Storkel will post this to our Facebook group to reach out outside our organization, I encourage everyone to spread the word as well. This is an opportunity for VBC to help our community in this time of need. But just our 500+ members alone can make a difference. Peter if you are listening, so can BCC!

I understand that this is last minute, it took a VBC member to come up with this incredible idea so I am pleased to help get this started. Please send any volunteer questions directly to me. And thank you!
