Ride Pace

How To Use These Numbers

Riders:   Ask yourself, "Can I maintain this pace on flat ground?"  PACE is the minimum average riding speed on flat ground with no wind and no drafting.  It is NOT the average speed for the overall ride, just the speed you should be capable of on the flats.  Slow and faster riders are welcome on all rides if they are comfortabel fixing a flat and using a map.

Ride Leaders:  Ride leaders are responsible for setting the pace for a ride.  Faster riders DO NOT set the pace for the ride.  It is the ride leader's responsibility to provide a pleasant riding experience for those who attend expecting the advertised pace.

  •                           14 -16 MPH - Moderate pace.
  •                          16 - 18 MPH - Brisk pace.
  •                          18 - 20 MPH - Fast pace.
