Welcome to the Vancouver Bicycle Club (VBC)
Located in Vancouver, Washington USA

The VBC sponsors group rides throughout Vancouver and Clark County, and actively supports safe bicycling. Club rides are held throughout the week, as well as Time Trials and event rides.

A complete schedule of upcoming VBC rides can be found in our monthly newsletter, The Wheel Truth, which is mailed to all club members and is also available in local bike shops. The newsletter also contains articles from the President and the Editor, useful bicycling tips and other tidbits. You can view and download the current issue and back issues of The Wheel Truth from The Wheel Truth Page.

Information about our rides and events is also posted on this website and is updated monthly. For a schedule of VBC rides, click on the Ride Calendar; and for surrounding area events, use our Northwest Events link. Check the other links to the left for more information on all kinds of VBC things!

The VBC now has a great way to keep you informed of last minute changes to the ride schedule (as well as other cool club news). Consider joining the VBC Buddies List. This is our list server that lets you keep informed on what's going on with the club, including impromptu rides and ride cancellations, club news, events and all of our crazy goings-on. This is all done by e-mail, with messages delivered right to your e-mail Inbox. And now the VBC has a Lending Library of over 50 cycling related books and DVD's for your reading and viewing pleasure. For those of you who enjoy the process of mentally interpreting written symbols as much as much as cutting alternating circles with your feet while seated on a mobile, wheeled device, check out all the details here! 

In addition to the information you can find here on the VBC website, we also highly recommend visiting www.PortlandCycling.net - an online cycling community. It's designed to give Portland area cyclists resources to make their riding experience fun, positive and safe. Links to various cycling maps can show places to ride that you may not have considered or heard of. Their ride calendar lists organized group rides from many local-area cycling clubs and groups (including the VBC!). They also have pointers to cycling community events and organizations like BikePortland.org, SHIFT and the BTA, where you can plug into a wealth of recreational, commuting and alternative cycling opportunities. A truly informative website!

CITY OF VANCOUVER UNVEILS NEW BICYCLING WEBSITE

The City of Vancouver Transportation Services has created a series of new Web pages all devoted to bicycling in Vancouver. The new Web site provides an array of bicycling information including regional bicycle maps, safety tips and an overview of state bicycling laws. You will also find tips to get you started bicycling or, if you already bike, you can find great resources to keep you going. Check out the new Vancouver bicycling website at: www.cityofvancouver.us/bike.
